Blackjack Strategy

If you are a new Blackjack player, or just new to playing Blackjack for real money, there may be a few key things you have yet to learn in order to be successful when playing Blackjack. When you do your homework about a game before placing your hard earned cash on the line, it's like having a cheat sheet to a pop quiz, the advantage is yours. Blackjack is pretty easy to get the hang of and profit from if you are willing to put in a little time learning some great Blackjack strategies and about card counting for Blackjack. Many people go into the game thinking that Blackjack is a game of luck and although luck has a part in it, there is a way to one up the luck by having knowledge about your hand and what move you should make. Because players are able to choose whether to hit, split, stand or double down, there are a lot of reasons that you can tower over the luck of the draw. When you are unaware of how to count the cards and increase your odds, you will often make the wrong move and when this happens, you are increasing the house edge, which is the percentage of your wagers which the house will ultimately keep.

The best strategy that you can have when playing Blackjack, even before you get the hang of card counting, is what the different hands are and what you should do with them. There are 3 basic kinds of Blackjack hands, paired hands, soft hands and hard hands. A paired hand is quite obviously a Blackjack hand where the first two cards are of the same value ie; 8, 8 . Some online and offline casinos also allow you to split 10s and face cards with each other even if they are not the same card because 10s, Jacks, Queens and Kings are all worth 10 when playing Blackjack. A soft hand is any hand that has an Ace in it. Because an Ace can be used as both a 1 and an 11, it is considered soft, like changeable. Having said that, a hard Blackjack hand is the complete opposite of a soft hand meaning that there is no Ace in the hand, so there is only 1 possible total.
