Different Blackjack Variations and Games

Spanish 21

Spanish 21 and Blackjack are basically the same game and have the same objective, which is to get as close to 21 as possible without busting. However, other than the object of the game, the rules to the 2 different games are quite different. In Spanish 21 you can double down whenever you want even if you have already split your first two cards. A great thing about Spanish 21 is that the dealer is forced to hit on a soft 17, which means if the dealer ends up with an Ace and a 6, although they do equal 17, you had to use the Ace as an 11, that is known as a soft 17. One of the more popular things about Spanish 21 is that they offer bonuses for hitting one of the Spanish 21 bonus hands! The hands may vary including making 21 with 5 cards, making 21 with 6, 7 and 8, or even making 21 with 3 sevens.

Triple 7's Blackjack

The game Triple 7's Blackjack is very similar to Vegas Strip Blackjack except for the amazing fact then when you find a 7 in your hand you are then given a special bonus! For each 7 you end up finding in your hand you will be eligible to receive a 5:1 bonus payout amount, and if you come across a pair of unsuited 7's in your hand you will be able to receive a 25:1 bonus payout amount! Some folks are even lucky enough to find a pair of suited 7s in their hand and if that does happen, you are going to be paid 50:1 which is quite amazing! In Triple 7's Blackjack you can only win one payout (i.e. only the highest bonus payout will be paid), for instance, if you start with 1 seven and hit and get another one that is suited, you will only get paid for the pair of suited sevens, not for the single seven. Big 5 Blackjack

The rules in Big 5 blackjack are pretty much the same as the original Blackjack game. In Big 5 you are allowed to double down on any 2 cards even if you have already split them before, and you are also allowed to split any of the aces and any pairs. On top of being able to split pairs, you can also split your first 2 cards if they total 10 even if it is not a pair. As a general rule, which is very similar to the original blackjack game, is that split aces that receive a 10 as there second card are no longer considered blackjack. The name Big 5 comes from the amount of card decks used to play. So obviously, when playing Big 5 Blackjack, you will be playing with a card shoe holding 5 standard decks of 52 card playing cards.  The biggest difference you will find when playing Big 5 Blackjack in comparison to regular Blackjack is that Big 5 Blackjack offers an early surrender. An early surrender means that you are surrendering half of your original bet because you do not feel you can better your hand. Early surrender is not allowed when the dealer is holding an ace in their hand.

Double Exposure Blackjack

Double Exposure Blackjack is another Blackjack variation that is played pretty much exactly like single deck regular Blackjack. There is only one major difference between the two games – instead of the dealer having one card face up and one card face down, the dealer is forced to show both cards in their hand.  You and other players at the table will also show both of your cards, allowing a peak into what everyone else is holding. Being able to see both of everyone's cards is a big advantage if you are able to count in your head and try to figure out how many outs you have left.  For a lot of people this comes as a huge advantage being able to view both the dealers cards and the other players cards. If the dealer has a high hand above 17 you will want to remember to hit until you can beat him because unless you beat his 17, he will win the hand.

Vegas Single Deck Blackjack

The game Vegas Single Deck Blackjack is played a lot like the original blackjack game except for the fact that unlike most of the blackjack variations this one can often be found in both the 6:5 and 3:2 payouts. But keep in mind that if you sit down at a table that pays 6:5 the odds are weighted in the house favor. Vegas single deck blackjack variation is known as a hole game, in other words this means that the dealer will receive one card up and another card down. This same rule will be repeated in most of the blackjack variations. Another comparison to other blackjack variations is that you are permitted to double down on any two cards including the split cards. Remember you can only split aces, as well as any of the face cards or any cards that value ten. Another huge difference that stands out about Vegas Single Deck is that the dealer has to hit on a soft 17 and basically a soft 17 is making the number 17 by using an Ace as 11 to make the 17.

Atlantic City Blackjack

Atlantic City Blackjack is one of the more complicated variations of Blackjack and the hardest to count cards as they use 8 decks of standard 52 card playing cards. In Atlantic City Blackjack, you will be allowed to split 10's, face cards, aces, but do remember that aces can only be split one time! The biggest difference between regular Blackjack and Atlantic City Blackjack is that you can double down on any two cards that also includes if you split the cards!

Vegas Strip Blackjack

When playing Vegas Strip there are only a few differences that set it aside from the regular and original game of Blackjack. Vegas strip Blackjack is played with 4 standard 52 card decks of playing cards rather than just 1. One rule of Vegas Strip Blackjack that you will find pops up in a lot of Blackjack variation games is that if you are dealt two aces and you decide you want to split them and upon splitting them, you then get a 10 or a face card as the second card, it does not count as a Blackjack even though you have made 21 using only 2 cards. A “Blackjack” must be made with the first 2 cards you receive before splitting. Another great thing about Vegas Strip Blackjack is that you do not have to have a matching pair in order to split. All 10s and face cards are equal and can be split when in a combination just like they were a pair. In Vegas Strip Blackjack, you will be allowed to double down on the first two cards and if you end up splitting aces you can also double down before your second card is dealt out to you!

Bonus Blackjack

The game of Bonus Blackjack is a fun and exciting variation of the Blackjack game.  It is becoming more and more popular each day at online casinos for many great reasons.
